To honor and share their stories and preserve their legacy.
Rosie represents empowerment.
She represents ALL women who worked on the home front including mail and milk delivery, drafting, childcare, farming, canning, ship building, manufacturing of life preservers and parachutes, welding, airplane manufacturing, riveting and aircraft delivery to Allies! Six million women entered the workforce to help win the war.
We could not have done it without them.
DID YOU KNOW?
- The women entering the workforce during WWII, taking on the jobs of building tanks, planes, etc are collectively called Rosie the Riveters
- Rosies changed the face of the workplace forever, paving the way for women to work in STEM and the trades
- Rosies had bombers rolling off the assembly line at a rate of one per hour
